Przeczytamy tam o dziwnych poleceniach od Boga, stworzeniu świata w sześć dni, ludziach żyjących po kilkaset lat, olbrzymach, globalnym potopie, niszczeniu miast za karę i innych nadprzyrodzonych wydarzeniach. To z niego pochodzi kodeks prawny nakazujący wojnę z poganami i kamienowanie za łamanie Dziesięciu Przykazań. | Depending on canon, Christian Bibles consist of 66 to 81 books:[1] the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles, the Apocalypse, the Prophets, moralizing writings, stories, descriptions of events. Most of its puzzling verses are in the Pentateuch (aka the Law of Moses). It tells about weird rules from God, the world creation in 6 days, people living hundreds of years, giants, a global flood, destroying cities as punishment, and other supernatural events. The legal code from there prescribes war against pagans and stoning for breaking the Ten Commandments. |

Czy się podoba, czy nie, tekst ten wywarł znaczny wpływ na historię, więc powinni go znać wierzący i niewierzący, poszukujący i antyteiści. Jest to interesująca lektura, która może czegoś nauczyć o wartościach i starodawnym myśleniu, choć nie powinna być źródłem etyki współcześnie. W celu lepszego pokazania tego zebrałam wszystko w jednym miejscu. Z dzisiejszej perspektywy to szokuje, ale w porównaniu do okolicznych plemion Izraelici i tak odznaczali się lepszą moralnością, dopasowaną do mrocznych realiów tamtych czasów. | It's the fundament and inherent part of the holy books of Jews (the Tanakh) and Christians (the Old Testament), and in some way of Muslims[2] — jointly more than 50% of the Earth's population. Like it or not, the text made a significant change to our history, and therefore believers and nonbelievers, seekers and antitheists should get to know it. That interesting reading can teach something about values and ancient thinking, though it shouldn't be a source of ethics today. I collected everything in one place to show it better. From the current perspective, all that is shocking, but compared to the surrounding tribes, Israelites had a better morality anyway, fitting the dark realities of those times. |
